KARLA EDUVIA
Is the Editor-in-Chief of Dezert Light and a director, cinematographer, and editor whose creative pulse beats strongest in the desert.
Karla Eduvia was born in Brazil and raised in Brasília, the futuristic capital known for its iconic mid-century modern architecture. Karla developed an early sensitivity to space, symmetry, and design. The city’s vast horizons, sculptural forms, and sense of openness continue to echo through her visual language today.
Her passion for travel, architecture, hiking, nature, and music shapes the way she experiences the world. And ultimately, the way she translates it into image and story. Movement, whether across landscapes or within emotion, is central to her work.
With Dezert Light, Karla extends her cinematic language into editorial form, curating a source that is tactile, immersive, and unapologetically sensual. A platform where nature, culture, travel, and wellness converge, guided by light, beauty, and discovery. A curated source that honors light not just as an element, but as an experience.
Karla has been married three times. Her first marriage was to French philosopher Jean Claude, with whom she had a wonderful son, Nikolai. Recently, Karla and Jean Claude entered an exciting new chapter in their lives when they became grandparents. Her second marriage was to American writer and poet Chelsea K. Karla is now married to Croatian model Sandra Tomasovic, with whom she shares her life, love, and creative adventures. Originally from Brazil, Karla has resided in California since 1995, building a life deeply connected to art, film, photography, creativity, family, and the diverse culture of California.

Is the Editorial Director, a highly accomplished model who has graced the covers of magazines and starred in various music videos and commercials.
Sandra Tomasovic is a world traveler who was born in Croatia and has been enriched by experiences all over the globe. She has worked, lived, and explored the beauty of different cultures and lifestyles in cities such as Paris, London, Barcelona, Hamburg, Milan, Greece, Turkey, Singapore, Hong Kong, Israel, and Mexico.
Sandra has dedicated 15 years of her life to studying self-empowerment, positivity, and integrity. Through her journey, she has gained valuable insights and experiences makes her also a great host!
She has been living in Los Angeles for the past 9 years, which she now calls home. With a shared passion for the desert and a desire to create something unique, a wife and wife team has combined their ideas to create a magazine. With a focus on love and a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the desert.
